Snip-its is a national franchise of salons just for kids. In June 2010, we were hired to help promote the grand opening of Snip-its' Charlottesville location. Through media relations, direct mail, grassroots marketing, community partnerships, and a social media campaign, the Charlottesville location broke every grand opening record across the country since the company began tracking grand opening successes several years prior. It was the first time a franchise owner had ever hired a PR firm for grand opening support.
Several months later, we were asked to attend Snip-its' franchise conferences in Atlanta and Boston to speak about the importance of social media and how to use social media, specifically Facebook, to engage with audiences. At the time, only a handful of salons had Facebook pages. Twelve months later, 87% of the franchise locations were utilizing Facebook to reach audiences.
