Sticks Kebob Shop was created to give foodies, health-conscious diners, and busy families a healthy alternative to traditional fast food. Sticks offers real food, made from scratch, minus artificial ingredients and preservatives. (Our recommendation? The chicken kebob platter with cilantro-lime dressing and a side of hummus.)
Sticks hired us for a community outreach campaign - partnering with non-profit organizations that focus on promoting healthy lifestyles in the markets in which Sticks operates - Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, Va. Our job was to identify and build relationships with local organizations to create successful and mutually beneficial campaigns.
Since 2012, we have worked with Sticks on fundraising campaigns, catered and sponsored events, and more importantly, building strong foundations for long-lasting relationships with:
- Central Virginia and Greater Richmond Girls on the Run chapters, providing Sticks' Snack Packs for hundreds of girls in the after-school programs, hosting multiple fundraisers at Sticks' locations each year, sponsoring the 5ks and providing meals for coaches and committee members
- City Schoolyard Garden, raising money for a garden shed at a local school through the "Sticks for Sheds" campaign, providing food for hundreds of parents, teachers and students at its annual Fall Harvest Festival and donating meals to organizers and committee members at each participating school
- Beyond Boobs!, hosting multiple fundraisers for the organization, creating customer loyalty discount cards for its members and participating in its annual golf tournament
- University of Virginia Health System's Club Red, offering discounts to Club Red members, promoting Club Red on Sticks' menus, providing meals for Club Red organizers, offering giveaways for its magazine's February issue focused on heart health and working with a UVA nutritionist to identify Sticks' "Club Red Clinic-approved" menu items
All of these partnerships were supported by social media, communications and media relations campaigns (see a NBC29 story here) to generate awareness of Sticks and its partner organizations.
