what is Squarespace 7.0?

Squarespace 7.0 has been around for a long time now. An easy rule of thumb is that if you started your website pre-2020, you are using 7.0.

what is Squarespace 7.1?

It is the new version of Squarespace.

Don’t be deceived that they named it 7.1 (instead of 8.0); this is a big change and a whole new version.

curious about some of our favorite features of Squarespace 7.1?

1. Free your site from templates! Squarespace is now truly drag-and-drop. While this is great for website designers (like Hive!), template free can be a bit intimidating, but it also allows us to be completely creative in page structures.

2. Mobile-isolated design! While Squarespace sites have always been mobile-responsive, in 7.1, we can implement different object ordering and sizing for the mobile.

3. Design Settings are organized by fonts, colors, buttons (etc.) and applied site-wide. We can also apply different colors to sections of your pages, allowing us even more freedom in incorporating your brand’s identity across your website.

Although 7.0 is still available, there will be no new features added to this version. Many features are identical in both versions, such as commerce, analytics, SEO, and some page types. However, Squarespace 7.1 has introduced some long-awaited features, automatic mobile adaptability, and faster site-building.
