Client Spotlight: Civil Water
Civil Water is a Black-owned company based out of Charlottesville, Virginia, whose mission is to create an alternative to plastic in the water bottle industry. Their aluminum bottles are 100% recyclable, including their labels, which you have the option of removing and recycling separately. Scope
In December 2020, Civil Water came to Hive Creative Group through our Basic Branding Package. We worked with Faith and Neil first to create a brand story, which served as a roadmap for further marketing plans. The Civil Water team already had a logo and branding guide, so Hive needed to keep these in mind while designing both the packaging and the website.
package design
Hive wanted to create a package design that did not totally cover the bottle so that the aluminum was clearly featured. The wave design was picked as a nod to water, while also mimicking the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the spring water is sourced and the company is based. The design is simple and clean, just like the logo.
web design
Over the course of the next few months, our team worked to design packaging and an e-commerce website where Civil Water could sell their water via subscriptions or wholesale. The website is built in Squarespace and highlights the online shop features, like the monthly subscription order feature.
public relations
After the website launched, Hive worked with the Civil Water team to pitch to local and regional media.
