New Year Business Goals
Who else loves kicking off a new year with some organization? It's not too late to take some time to do an audit of your online presence and make some goals for 2023. We’ve gathered our best tips on setting up your business for success this year and compiled them into a short list here on our blog.
Tip 1: Define your niche
Social media is no longer merely a fun outlet for sharing your personal life and connecting with people online. If you haven’t already, it’s time to ask how social media can help accomplish your business goals for 2023. In addition, leaning on social media trends alone isn't a reliable or sustainable strategy for growth. Accounts that grow (and resonate with people) are accounts with clear and established values. If you can define the niche of your business or organization, you can focus on the unique value that you offer your clients, and in turn create more engaging and relatable content.
Tip 2: Create a social media content calendar
Once you have your niche figured out, it's time to brainstorm a list of content ideas or campaigns that you'd like to post throughout the year. We recommend planning your content a month ahead of schedule. Not only will this save time, but it will also leave room for you to stay up to date on any relevant social media news and update your content calendar accordingly. Creating all your content at once (batching) will save time and avoid last-minute stressors or missed posts.
Tip 3: Refresh your brand
Do you feel like your branding efficiently communicates everything you need it to? If not, it might be time for a refresh. This could be as simple as making a small tweak to your logo and expanding your color palette, or as extensive as re-designing your logo to make sure your brand feels relevant to your target audience.
Tip 4: Refresh your website
If your website is over 5 years old, it might be time for an update. It's important that your site is easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, and visually appealing. (To mention just a few factors!) If you're happy with the function of your site, you can consider additional options like starting a blog, which can be a helpful resource for your target audience in addition to improving your SEO.
Tip 5: Evaluate your SEO strategy
With the speed at which the internet evolves, it's important to make sure your website's SEO strategy is up to date. Search engines frequently update their algorithms, so what worked for your site last year may not work today! Writing catchy headlines, using the right keywords, and focusing on user experience are just the beginning. Read blogs, follow SEO experts, and subscribe to newsletters to stay up to date on what's changing.
We hope these tips helped you brainstorm some new ideas and get your business off to a good start this year.
